Learn how to add files, websites, text, or Q&A data to your agent’s knowledge base so it can answer questions intelligently.

Connect Knowledge to Your Agent

Go to your agent

Visit https://www.callpod.ai/dashboard/agents and select the agent you want to connect a knowledge base to.

Navigate to the Knowledge tab

Once inside the agent, click on the Knowledge tab.

Choose your knowledge source type

You'll see options to connect several types of knowledge sources (explained below).

Knowledge Source Types

You can connect up to four types of knowledge to your agent:

  1. Text-based sources

    • Paste or write plain text that the agent can use to answer questions.
  2. File uploads

    • Supported formats include: .pdf, .md, .txt, .doc, and .docx.
  3. Websites

    • Add a single URL or enable full-site crawling to ingest multiple pages at once.
  4. Questions & Answers (Q&A)

    • Manually input question-and-answer pairs that your agent can reference directly.

How It Works

Once your knowledge sources are connected and processed:

  • Your agent will be able to retrieve answers using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), meaning it will cite or respond using the actual sources you uploaded.
  • You can test your agent’s performance immediately in the Playground tab to ensure it’s responding accurately based on your new data.
